Will strive to complete pending irrigation projects: Anil Kumar
Kurnool: Minister for Irrigation and water resources Dr P Anil Kumar Yadav said the government will strive to complete pending irrigation projects in the district. He addressed media persons at State Guest House here on Thursday evening.
He assured to complete all pending irrigation projects in the district and will extend water to thousands of acres. The government will take steps to fill up all vacant Lashkar posts at the projects. Gajula Dinne Project (GDP) was filled with 2.6 tmc ft water from the Hundri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi canal, he said.
``Plans are afoot to widen Tungabhadra canal works to release 6,000 cusecs of water. Even widening works of HNSS canal from Srisailam rear end are also planned. We have also prepared plans to draw 80,000 cusecs of water from Pothireddy Padu Head Regulator,'' he said.
The Minister has also said that canal lining and repairing works are also planned. Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving big boost to the down trodden and weaker section people by implementing several welfare schemes, stated Anil Kumar Yadav. MLAs of Kurnool, Panyam, Srisailam, Kodumur, Nandikotkur, Nandyal, Pathikonda, Adoni and Mantralayam and others were present.
