 SCR GM Gajanan Mallya flags off ‘Fit India Cyclothon’

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR), General Manager Gajanan Mallya, along with SCR officials, Women's Welfare Organisation members flagged off "Fit India Cyclothon" on Saturday. The event was organised by SCR Sports Association as part of Fit India Thematic Campaign "Fitness Ka Doze...Adha Ghanta Roz" being held from 7th to 31st December, 2020 under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.

Speaking on the occasion, Gajanan Mallya complimented the sports association in taking up this appropriate and important initiative on SCR. He stressed on the importance of staying fit which is very important and need of the hour. The cycling activity is very good for health and now a day many people in other countries are coming back to cycling to maintain fitness. Cycling is environment friendly activity and improves health also. During the fit India campaign railway employees and families are participating in large scale along with all the events/activities being organised.

Jayanthi Mallya, President, SCR Women's Welfare Organisation said that the event fit India campaign really brings healthy spirit amongst the participants of the activity. Fit SCR team is going strong with several fitness activities being conducted. She also said that, she is a beneficiary of the activities of fit India campaign due to which her health has shown a very good improvement. The encouragement provided by the team members in the FIT SCR App Group developed is highly appreciable.

The Cyclothon is part of the fit India movement which includes Thematic campaign, fitness assessment through 'FIT INDIA APP' and 'FIT INDIA Cyclothon'. Participants have been asked to take fitness videos of their choice for 10 seconds and upload it on the digital platforms of the Ministry.
