Maintain Swacchata at govt schools: Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam
Vikarabad: District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam has directed headmasters to convert government schools into 'swachh schools'. She conducted a review meeting with headmasters and organisers of mid-day meal, here at Ambedkar Bhavan on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said steps were being taken to provide tap connections to all government schools for providing Mission Bhagirtha water to all students. She asked them to send proposals for construction of compound wall for the school and she would try to mobilise funds from MLA or MP LADS.
The Collector stressed the need for providing drinking water and a water tank for storage for cooking and other needs. She told them to ensure that the toilets were in working condition and to cleanliness was maintained. Emphasising on the maintenance of school premises, she told the officials to plant saplings as part of Haritha Haram. She told the organisers of mid-day meals to provide hygienic and nutritious food to the students.
Issues like some of the schools not having gas connection, using firewood for cooking and pending bills were taken to the notice of the Collector. Responding to the issue, she said gas connections will be provided wherever needed. DEO Renuka was also present.
