IB Official's Killing: Kin Blame AAP Corporator

New Delhi: A young Intelligence Bureau (IB) official was murdered and his body dumped in a drain in the rioting which rocked North East parts of Delhi for three days. The victim, Ankit Sharma was a resident of Seelampur in North East Delhi.

Sharma's family members in their conversation to television networks levelled allegations saying that Tahir Hussain, who lives nearby, and is a Corporator of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), had a role in the gruesome murder of the IB official. The AAP However, defended Hussain claiming that he had been evacuated by the police a day earlier. The AAP Corporator also put out a video claiming to be innocent.

AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh questioned as to why Tahir Hussain's version was being ignored. Sanjay Singh also said that the AAP corporator should be made a part of the investigation.

Several television channels aired visuals of what appeared to be a riot factory in the AAP factory's house. His rooftop was full of bottles filled with petrol, bricks, stones, chemicals and other "weapons", as telecast by a host of TV networks.

Locals told reporters that stones bricks and petrol bombs were being hurled at passers-by from the rooftop of the Corporator and questioned why police forces had been completely absent at the location.

Delhi Police has reportedly taken up investigation of the murder of the IB official.
