Vote to save democracy: Collector

Eluru: West Godavari District Collector K Bhaskar has called upon the people to utilise their vote to protect democracy.

While flagging off the 2K Run here on National Voters Day on Thursday, the Collector said, “The people must recognise the value of a vote and every person over 18 years of age can register to vote.” For this, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has been conducting the National Voters Day every year to create awareness among the people on the vote.

Students of colleges, schools and NCC cadets started their run from the indoor stadium, passed through R and B office road, Fire Station, Court Centre, Ameenapeta and reached KPDT High School in Ashok Nagar. Joint Collector P Koteswara Rao, Eluru RDO G Chakradhara Rao, SETWEL CEO Subbireddy, Tahsildar Chandrasekhar, District Sports Development Officer SA Aziz and other officials participated in the run.
