Call to make Pulse Polio a success

Guntur: MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy and GMC Commissioner Challa Anuradha on Sunday, administered polio drops to children at a programme held at the NTR Municipal Corporation Stadium here on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, Reddy stressed upon the need to administer polio drops to the children below five years of age and sought cooperation of the parents to make the programme a success. “The aim of the government is to make the society polio-free,” said the MLA. He further explained the steps taken by the government to conduct the programme.

The GMC Commissioner, in her address, said that the GMC had set up 270 polio booths to administer polio drops to the children. She informs, “Mobile teams are moving in the city and administering the drops. Teams are also set up at railway station and RTC Bus Stands to administer polio drops.” 

The teams would work round-the-clock. The programme would continue on Monday and Tuesday also. She requested the parents who have missed Sunday’s programme can get their children vaccinated by Monday or Tuesday. GMC Additional Commissioner K Ramachandra Reddy was also present.
