MLA Modugula quits TDP

Guntur: Guntur west MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy tendered his resignation to the MLA post and primary membership of TDP. He sent his resignation letter to the Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday. He is not comfortable in the party for some time. 

He did not attend review meetings conducted by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to finalise the names for Guntur Parliament constituency and Assembly constituencies. There is no assurance from the party of allotting a ticket to him in the coming elections, if he continued in the party.  Taking his political future into consideration, he resigned to the TDP and will be joining the YSRCP very soon.

Though he is keen on contesting for Narasaraopet Lok Sabha ticket, there is no assurance from YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy so far, it is learnt.

Modugula was elected to Lok Sabha on TDP ticket from Narasaraopet Parliament constituency in 2009 general elections and actively participated in the Samaikya Andhra Pradesh Movement.
