MLA distributes fishing nets

Kakinada: MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao said the State government was implementing many schemes for the welfare of fishermen community. He distributed Rs 15 lakh worth of fishing nets to fishermen on Sunday.  

He said the government gave a subsidy of Rs 3 lakh each to the nets. Earlier, nets were distributed to 54 fishing boats. He advised the fishermen to take necessary precautions while they go for fishing.

Mayor Sunkara Pavani Tirumala Kumar, Boats Owners Association Presidents B Ranga Rao, O Giri and others were present.
