Restrictions on drawing bills from treasury to be lifted

Eluru: District Collector K Bhaskar assured the Sarpanches that he would take steps to withdraw the restrictions to draw bills relating to Grama Panchayatis in the district.West Godavari Sarpanches Assocaition leaders met the District Collector here on Thursday and submitted a memorandum to him. 

The Sarpanches stated that over the last four months, due to the restrictions in the treasuries, development works were halted in Panchayats. They represented the Collector to appoint Secretaries to Panchayats.

They stated that the water cess arrears to be paid by revenue department were not paid over the last one decade. They represented the Collector to write off the electricity bills to Minor Grama panchayats and implement GO 12 which was aimed at to regulate the non-layouts.  

The Collector assured them to withdraw the restrictions in the treasury to pass the bills. However, he stated that he would submit their demands to the Government as the other demands were in the purview of the government. 
 
District Sarpanches Association leaders Pilli Sattiraju, Kadali Gopala Rao, M Suryanarayana, J Venkateswara Rao, Subrahmanya Raju, Narasimha Rao, M Venkateswara Rao met the Collector.
