KGGH contract workers seek better deal
Kakinada: The members of the Kakinada Government General Hospital [KGGH] Contract Workers Union affiliated to INTUC seek better deal by the contractors. At the meeting organised at Kala Venkata Rao Congress Bhavan here on Sunday, the INTUC secretary S. Phaneeswara Rao said that injustice is being done to these sections by the contractor and the sub-contractor.
He alleged that out of 210 total workers on the contract basis, only 107 are being covered with PF and other benefits and the interests of the rest of 103 is being ignored. He alleged that sub-contractor Gokada Rambabu is not interested in extension of PF and other facilities to the remaining workers.
He also said the though there is provision for change of duties periodically, those favored by the contractor have been retained in the same section for over a decade.
Phaneeswara Rao appealed to the hospital authorities and district administration to do justice to all workers in extension of facilities including revision of salaries.
