Sugar to cost Rs 10 for half kg
Kakinada: MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao on Tuesday said that he would make Kakinada a problem-free ideal city in the state. He graced the ‘Janmabhoomi Maa Vuru’ programme’s fifth phase as the chief guest organised at the KSM Corporation Primary School in the 5thdivision of the city.
Speaking at the inaugural of the ‘Janmabhoomi -Maa Vuru’ programme, he described the programme as the right platform for solving issues faced by the people.
He informed that there were 78,000 ration cards in the city and the government has been spending Rs 2.95 crore for ration supply. The MLA also said that the government has sanctioned Rs 10,000 for every DWACRA member in which Rs 6,000 has been paid out and would fund the remaining soon.
He further said that a tap connection would be provided for only Rs 200 for white ration card holders in the city. “From this month onwards, the government has decided to give sugar to the ration card holders for a mere Rs 10 per half a kilo,” he added.
Kakinada Corporation Commissioner Siva Parvathi and Mayor Pavani also spoke in the event with the presence of the fifth division corporator N Sujatha, Tahsildar Subrahmanyam, Special officer Satish Kumar and other officials on the inaugural day of the Janmabhoomi programme.
