Implementing welfare schemes despite financial crisis: Minister
Kadapa: Marketing Minister C Adinarayana Reddy has said that Rs 35 crore worth assets were distributed to the beneficiaries during the fifth phase of Janmabhoomi-Maa Vooru programme in the district.
Addressing the gathering on the concluding day of Janmabhoomi programme here on Thursday, the Minister said house sites were distributed to the 816 persons. “76,000 new ration cards are going to be provided for the eligible beneficiaries by bearing an additional cost of Rs 5.5 crore in the district. Adinarayana Reddy has stated that new pensions were distributed to 28,000 eligible beneficiaries during the 10-day Janmabhoomi programme.
The Minister further stated the government is implementing various welfare schemes in a big way despite facing financial crisis. He said the government had spent Rs 6,000 crore for drinking water purpose and 19 lakh houses were sanctioned in the state in the interest of poor to own houses.
To provide support price to the farmers this year, the government will be spending Rs 2,000 crore. District Collector T Baburao Naidu, Joint Collector Swetha, TDP district president Srinivasulu Reddy and others were present.
