Vigilance dept sleuths raid traders, seize 22 cylinders

Eluru: The officials of the Vigilance and Enforcement Department carried out raids on two traders in Nadipudi village of Penugonda mandal in the district on Thursday and seized 22 cylinders worth Rs. 37,850 from them. 

On the instructions of Vigilance and Enforcement Superintendent of Police  B Atchyuta Rao, the Vigilance DSP M Rajini, Inspector of Police GVV Nageswara Rao, Sub-Inspector of Police  K Yesu Babu and others raided the premises of Kothapalli Sai Babu and Nikkirla Narayana Rao. 

They found that these two traders were selling gas cylinders at a high price and storing them illegally. The officials seized the 22 cylinders that were stocked in their houses and booked two cases against them under Section 6A and 7(1) of Essential Commodities Act.
