NDA rule a big failure: Chinta Mohan
Tirupati: Former MP Chinta Mohan reiterated his criticism against Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government saying that the four-year governance was a big failure. Speaking at a round table meeting on Tirupati development and Special Category Status (SCS) at Press Club here on Saturday, Chinta Mohan said that Narendra Modi had come to power with big promises four years ago.
But, Modi did nothing and whatever steps he took including that of demonetisation and GST were total failures, the Congress leader slammed, adding the country’s economic situation was not at all satisfactory and the state position was no better. Chinta Mohan stated the relations between the Prime Minister and Chief Minister have been strained and Chandrababu Naidu has failed miserably in getting the assurances of the AP Reorganisation Act sanctioned from the Prime Minister. Chief Minister was conducting unnecessary events instead of fulfilling poll promises, he criticised.
He also reiterated that people were looking for a change and with a secular government both at the Centre and the State things will be better. Rayalaseema Porata Samithi Convener P Naveen Kumar Reddy said that all development activities were only on paper and nothing was materialised. Even, smart city concept did nothing to better the situation in slums with the officials were visiting only developed areas again and again.
As Rayalaseema was a backward region, SCS would be of great help to its development which can be achieved by a united fight only. CPM leader K Kumar Reddy said that the TDP stand should be clear on every issue. Instead, the party changing their stand on various issues frequently. Former Principal of SPW College Dr Swarajya Lakshmi, Congress leader R Sridevi, Rayalaseema Intellectual Forum Convener M Purushotham Reddy and several other leaders have participated.
