‘Attacks against Dalits rampant under TDP rule’
Guntur: CPM state secretary P Madhu demanded that the government register cases against the accused who attacked Dalits at Peda Gottipadu in Guntur district. If the government fails to take action against them, they will intensify their agitation, he warned.
He addressed Dalits Atma Gaurava Sabha held here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that the government foisted cases against them and demanded for withdrawal of cases registered against them. He alleged that after TDP government came to power attacks and atrocities on Dalilts increased. He added that the TDP leaders grabbing the lands of Dalits and started illegal mining in Gurajazla, Chilakaluripet, Achampet, Pedakuarapadu in Guntur district and Ilaparru near Gudivada in Krishna district.
He alleged that the TDP leaders earned crores of rupees through illegal mining in the state. He warned that if Dalits lands are not returned to them, they will teach a lesson to them in the coming Assembly elections. He said if justice is not rendered to Dalits in Peda Gottipadu, they will conduct ‘Chalo Assembly, Chalo Rajahmundry, Chalo Ongole’ programmes soon.
Former MLA Md Mastan Vali said there no protection to Dalits in the state and conducting ‘Dalita Tejam’ is an eye wash. He alleged that police are diluting the SC,ST atrocity cases. He demanded that the government hand over Peda Gottipadu case to CID for investigation.
Peda Gottipadu Dalit Victims Sanghibahava Committee convener G.Santha Kumar,senior advocate Y.K,Dalit leaders Korivi Vinay Kumar, were among those participated.
