Left parties Chalo Delhi tomorrow
Vijayawada: CPI State secretary K Ramakrishna on Sunday announced that the Left Parties would launch massive protest in the national capital Delhi along with the Congress and the YSRCP demanding that the Union government grant Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh and fulfill the promises made in the AP Re-organisation Act.
The CPI leader along with the two other party leaders Ravula Venkaiah and P Harinath Reddy released a wall poster at the State party office on Sunday on ‘Chalo Delhi on March 6’ demanding that the Union government grant Special Category Status and fulfill the promises made as per the State Re-organisation Act.
Ramakrishna said the Joint Fact Finding Committee (JFFC) set up by Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan had prepared a report in just 14 days on the funds due from the Union government to the State. He said three top retired IAS officers found that the dues to the State were Rs 74,542 crore and congratulated Pawan Kalyan for appointing the Fact Finding Committee to compile the details on the funds to be released by the Centre.
He alleged that the BJP had no intension of granting SCS to the State and the BJP leaders were cheating the people of Andhra Pradesh with contradictory statements. He said top officers were working for both Central and State governments and they would be able to prepare a report on the allocations made to the State.
He wondered why the two governments failed to prepare a clear report on the funds allocated to the State and the dues to be released. Ramakrishna pointed out that the Congress and the YSRCP leaders were already camping in Delhi and the Left parties would join them for the fight at Jantar Mantar in the capital from March 6 onwards during the Budget Session of the Parliament.
Ramakrishna demanded that the BJP MLAs and MPs from the State should resign and seek fresh mandate from the public if they feel that the BJP had fulfilled the assurances made to the State as per the State Re-organisation Act.
