AP Govt moots to develop 28 Smart Villages in first phase

Amaravati: Aiming to make the villages as Smart Villages, panchayat raj minister Nara Lokesh announced that the department will develop 28 selected villages in the state as model Smart Villages in the first phase.

During a review meeting held here on Tuesday on the Smart Villages and Smart Wards on Tuesday, Lokesh directed the officials to focus on developing Smart Villages. The officials informed that in addition to that 28 villages, they identified 660 villages to develop them as Smart Villages.

At this juncture, Lokesh directed them to get a detailed survey on all the 688 selected Smart Villages based on the 10-star ratings. Meanwhile, he also suggested to identify the works need to be done in the villages as soon as possible.
