BJP luring voters with money in Karnataka: Congress
Nellore: Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief N Raghuveera Reddy alleged that the BJP leaders in Karnataka were distributing money to lure the voters. Interacting with the media at Indira Bhavan here on Friday, the PCC chief lambasted Narendra Modi that no Prime Minister in the country had participated in 23 public meetings during election campaign for 10 days in Karnataka which indicates their insecurity.
He expressed confidence the Congress party would win the hearts of people in Karnataka bagging more seats compared to 2009 elections. Raghuveera also alleged the YSRC has been directly supporting the BJP in Karnataka in some areas.
TDP supported the JDS in some areas aiming at defeating the BJP in the state, he added. Stating that Telugu voters are the deciding factor in some parts of Karnataka and they are with the Congress party, he said senior leaders from AP explained how the Central government had deceived the truncated state.
There is a shortage of Rs 2, 000 notes in banks and ATMs as the BJP chief Amit Shah has been distributing cash to lure the voters, he quipped. “Though petrol and diesel prices were frequently increased across the country, the Congress government in Karnataka had not increased the prices in such a way. It had implemented many welfare schemes for the benefit of poor and middle class and succeeded in eliminating the poverty,” said Raghuveera Reddy.
