TDP govt introduced more schemes for Scheduled Castes welfare: Minister

Tirupati: TDP government has taken up many welfare measures that no government had so far initiated for the welfare of Scheduled Castes, claimed Social Welfare Minister Nakka Ananda Babu.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Social Welfare Minister said the opposition YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy has no moral right to speak on the Dalits’ welfare, as it was during YS Rajasekhara Reddy government the funds meant for the Scheduled Castes were diverted on a big scale doing injustice to the oppressed classes. He dared Jaganmohan Reddy for a public debate on the initiatives taken up by TDP for Scheduled Castes.

The minister also alleged that it was YSRCP that was mainly responsible for the delay in Kadapa steel plant. He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu will remain in history for taking up the memorial for Babashaeb Ambedkar where the tallest Ambedkar statue will come up.

Claiming up Dalits are with TDP, he said that the party will make renewed efforts to retain them with the party. Local MLA M Suguna and others were present.
