Bank account holders cautioned over frauds in Kakinada
Kakinada: Sarpavaram police in Kakinada Rural cautioned bank accountholders over frauds by strangers seeking account details over phone.
Sarpavaram Circle Inspector D S Chaintanya Krishna met various bank branch managers seeking their cooperation in curbing the frauds and duping of bank accountholders in the last two days from Friday.
The CI who came across some complaints from bank accountholders, particularly from credit and debit cardholders gave some tips to avert such incidents.
These include calls linking bank accounts with Aadhaar numbers, updating of ATM cards, linking of phone member with bank accounts, raise in limit of credit cards and seeking details of OTP numbers of ATM cards.
The CI cautioned the bank accountholders not to entertain any such calls and fall in the trap of these fraudsters.
In addition to this, Chaitanya Krishna also warned the accountholders not to fall prey to the promises of sanctioning of personal loans in addition to seeking of funds credit for sanctioning of loans.
As part of this programme, the CI visited various banks under the Sarpavaram police station limits and sought the cooperation of respective branch managers in creating awareness to accountholders on this type of frauds.
