Collector flags off trucks with flood relief material
Kurnool: District Collector S Satyanarayana made an appeal to the people to be generous while donating to the flood victims of Kerala. The Collector flagged off three lorries-laden with edible oil and essential commodities on Tuesday.
The commodities were received from the donors across the district. Speaking on the occasion, Satyanarayana said 10,000 kilos of boiled rice, 1000 kilos of normal raw rice, 588 kg of green gram, 347 kg of wheat flour, 250 kg of bambino vermicelli, 432 boxes containing biscuits, 129 litres of edible oil, 269 kg of ravva, 145 kg of chilli powder, 531 kg of salt, 627 kg of sugar, 132 kg of turmeric power, baby diapers, banians, sarees, blankets, lungies, towels and other materials are being sent to Pathanamthitta victims in Kerala state.
Even, the employees of DRDA and MEPMA have extended financial assistance to the Kerala flood victims. DRDA and Velugu staff have donated one-day salary amounting to Rs 2.5 lakh and another Rs 1.5 lakh cheque by MEPMA staff. The mega cheque was given to the District Collector.
Joint Collector V Prasanna Venkatesh, DRO Venkatesam, Kurnool Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr CB Harinath Reddy, Assistant Project Director (APD) Sridhar Reddy and others were present.
