Fill up Gajula Dinne reservoir: Collector to officials
Kurnool: District Collector S Sathyanarayana directed the engineers of Irrigation department to initiate steps to fill Gajula Dinne Project (GDP) with the waters of Krishna river through Hundri Neeva main canal from 110.44 km. He visited Hundri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) main canal at Pandikona Reservoir near Kothapalli on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said to speed up works to fill the Gajula Dinne Project with the water of Krishna River through HNSS main canal. He said drinking water problems may arise during summer. So, ahead of summer season, GDP has to be filled, he said. If we could able to fill Gajula Dinne Project then water problems could be sorted out to Kurnool, Dhone, Yemmiganoor and other areas in the district, the Collector stated.
He instructed the officials to acquire land from the farmers for feeder channel works. If necessary, take steps to pay compensation to the farmers for the land. He ordered the engineers of irrigation department to initiate steps to fill three and half tmc ft water at Gajula Dinne Project.
Chief Engineer of Irrigation department, Narayana Reddy, Superintending Engineer, Sri Ramachandra Murthy, Commissioner of Kurnool Municipal Corporation, Dr CB Harinath Reddy, Adoni Revenue Division Officer Ram Murthy and others accompanied the Collector.
