Titli compensation payments will be made soon: Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy

Srikakulam: We will clear payment of compensation to Titli cyclone victims in the district soon on quick pace, said District Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy. In a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that preparation of beneficiaries’ lists will be completed soon in transparent manner.

He directed the officials at all levels not to yield to pressures and not to involve in corrupt practices in payment of compensation. If anyone violates the guide lines, it is easy to find out the lapses with latest available technology and responsible persons will face the music, Collector warned.

So far, we received 4.29 lakh applications for payment of compensation, of it 3.95 lakh applications were verified till Monday and remaining applications will be verified soon, he said.

Titli cyclone caused damage to all departments and sectors and the total loss was estimated at Rs 3,618 crore, he stated. Joint Collector KVN Chakradhara Babu and other officials were present.
