GUDA holds meet on master-plan

Rajamahendraavaram: MP Maganti Murali Mohan has advised Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) to construct an outer ring road and also separate residential and industrial areas to develop the region falling under the GUDA.

The GUDA arranged a meeting in the corporation office here on Tuesday to receive suggestions from various quarters to prepare master plan proposed for 30 years.

Participating in the meeting, the MP underlined the need to develop the narrow lanes in the city and also advised to mark zones for educational institutions, entertainment, hospitals etc. 

As many as five flyovers were sanctioned at Jonnada, Vemagiri, Morampudi, Diwanchervu and Lalachervu junctions and foundation stone laid for flyover at Morampudi in December. 

Rural MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary asked GUDA to develop roads, underground drainage etc in the city and informed that International Paper Mills controlled the pollution from the mill.

Urban MLA Dr Akula Satyanarayana said satellite cities also be developed as the city was developing fast in all aspects.

Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai also underscored the need to develop the city on war footing and asked GUDA to allot funds in this regard.

GUDA chairman Ganni Krishna said all the suggestions will be taken into consideration before preparing the master plan.

GUDA vice-chairman Amarendra Kumar, Commissioner Sumit Kumar, Sub-Collector CM Saikanth Varma and others were present.
