Officials told to complete arrangements for Ijtema fest

Kurnool: District Collector S Sathyanarayana directed the officials concerned to complete the Ijtema arrangements by Wednesday evening. The Collector, at his camp office here on Tuesday, held a review meeting on Ijtema arrangements.   

Addressing the meeting, the Collector instructed the SE of Rural Water Scheme (RWS) Hari Babu to ensure uninterrupted water supply. The electricity department officials were also ordered to take care of power supply at the premises of Ijtema. He asked the department to give him a report on electrical infrastructure.

District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Prabhakar Rao was given the task of good sanitation, arranging dust bins and bleaching the surroundings by deploying adequate number of workers. The DPO, in response,  said he will engage 1500 workers to take care of sanitation.

The Collector ordered the Panchayat Raj department to lay approach roads. The Civil Supplies, Marketing and Horticulture Department officials were instructed to supply gas, vegetables and other  commodities. Staff of all departments have to work   in three shifts, said Sathyanarayana. 

Superintendent of Police Fakkeerappa Kaginelli said they are setting up a joint command control room in which the officials of medical and health, fire, police and  Transco besides other departments will be made available. Five medical teams and five ambulances will extend services round the clock, said DMHO, Dr Prasad.

RTC busses will cover 53 places in 6 districts, said RTC, Regional Manager, Chandra Sekhar. Joint Collector Patamshetti Ravi Subash ordered the Minority Welfare department officer to create a whatsapp of Ijtema arrangements. Additional SP, Madhava Reddy, DRO, Venkatesham, Panchyat Raj SE Subbarayudu, R&B in charge SE, Jayaram and others participated in the meeting.
