VIT students, staff pay homage to martyrs
Vijayawada: The students and staff of VIT-AP University along with Vice-chancellor and Registrar here on Tuesday paid homage to CRPF Jawans who were killed in terrorist attack at Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir recently.
At a solemn ceremony held at Dr Saravepalli Radha Krishnan block on the campus, Dr D Subhakar, vice-chancellor, VIT-AP University paid floral tributes to the portrait of 40 slain personnel.
He said Indian soldiers who were guarding our borders toiled in the snowy Himalayan region, unmindful of the biting cold, only to ensure the peace and happiness of the people of India.
Dr CLV Siva Kumar said that the soldiers worked hard with a spirit of unity as Indians, transcending religious, caste, linguistic and all other barriers.
He wished to convey his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members of the slain personnel.
The professors, staff, students and security personnel paid floral tributes to the martyred CRPF Jawans.
