Rana mulls Amar Chitra Katha theme parks

Reigning star Rana Daggupati is on a new mission these days. The ‘Bahubali’ star has been fascinated with ‘Amar Chitra Katha’ books from his childhood and is now looking forward to expand its brand beyond books. It is learnt that the grandson of Ramanaidu has tied-up with Kishore Biyani of Future Group to promote Amar Chitra Katha theme parks and centres all over India. “Rana wants to give an Indian touch to theme parks.

In fact, he had visited most of the theme parks in India, which are based on foreign themes. To change it for good, Rana is planning to develop theme parks based on ‘Amar Chitra Katha’ concept which is truly Indian and culturally rich,” says a source, close to the actor.

Apart from theme parks, the ‘Ghazi’ star is also thinking of inculcating the reading habit among children who are hooked to gadgets, by establishing ‘Amar Chitra Katha’ centres across the two Telugu States and other places. “Browsing books in a library was one of people’s favourite past-time in the past.

But the habit is losing sheen with the advent of digital revolution which changed the knowledge-accruing habit. To revive the reading habit and also to make children understand that interacting with well-read students at libraries will trigger a new interest in them and expand their knowledge base. So a bunch of centres will come up in school and college zones to kickstart reading revolution of a different kind,” the source adds.

Truly ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri,’ star is thinking beyond cinema and expanding his business interests in varied ways. When contacted, Suresh Babu, producer and father of Rana, admitted to the plans. “Rana and Kishore are thinking of promoting Indian culture which is rich in tradition and moral values. Of course, they are discussing various ideas and theme parks is one of them,” he cuts short.
