Confluence of classical dances

 Shilparamam Arts, Crafts, and Cultural Society along with Sanchalana School of Dance organised a two-day festival ‘ Nrityaarchara- A fest of Indian classical dance’ over the weekend. 

Social activist Satyavati inaugurated the two-day cultural activities. The cultural events began with the rendering of Bharatanatyam dance by guru Gautami Ravichandra along with her disciples. The group performed for items like ‘Vinayaka Stuti’, ‘Vasantha Jatiswaram’, ‘Huseni Jatiswaram’ and more. The group mesmerised the audience with their flawless effort and great coordination.

Following the Bharatanatyam recital by Gautami Ravichandra and group, guru Sanjay Joshi along with his students performed Kathak dance. His team including Shilpa Chakraverty, Mohan Reddy, Anushka Arvind, Tripta Gharai, Denebola Biswas and Swastika Chakravarty rendered Kathak dance for items like ‘Guru Vandana’ followed by ‘Thaat’, ‘Tukda’, ‘Chakradhar Tukda’, and ‘Gat Nikas’. The group mesmerised the audience with their spellbinding show and received great response from the spectators.

The cultural evening ended with the Kuchipudi performance by Dr Kiranmai and students of Sanchalana School of Dance. Dr Kiranmai’s group includes Sanchalana, Sammohana, Varsha Reddy, Uma Maheshwari, Jaya, Sai Saraswati, Shobita, Navya and Likhita. 

The group performed Kuchipudi for items like ‘Ammaanandhadayini’ composed by Dr Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna in Gambhira Nata Ragam, Adi Talam, ‘Javali’ and ‘Keethana- narration of Ramayana by Yashoda to Lord Krishna. The group’s comprehensive Kuchipudi dance for various items is a visual treat for the audience at Shilparamam.
