Give immediate assistance for victims of sexual assault: K Ramulu

Vikarabad: National SC Commission Member K Ramulu directed the district administration to see that immediate assistance to be extended to the victims of sexual assault. He held a meeting with district officers, here on Friday at collectorate. Ramulu urged the officers to provide compensation to the victims of sexual offences. 

He said that the fruits of welfare measures will reach the beneficiaries only when officials work sincerely. Ramulu said he received complaints about negligent attitude of some police officers while registering atrocities cases against SCs. 

Even we have information that station bails have been issued in these cases, he remarked. He directed the police officials to take action so that such thing would not happen again. He also instructed the concerned officials to identify the students belong to SC and make sure that they receive proper education. 

The District Collector Umar Jaleel, SP Annapurna, JC Sandhyarani, DRDA Johnson, Social Welfare Officer Swetha Priyadarshini, RDOs Viswanatham, Venumadhava Rao and others were present during the review meeting.

Earlier he visited SC Colony at Alampalli and enquired about problems if any. later he went to SC Welfare Residential School at Kothagandi and inspected the quality of food.
