Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika to protest at SSC exam centres
Somajiguda: The Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika is to take up a campaign at the SSC examination centres and in villages from Saturday till March 22, culminating in protests in districts on March 24 demanding cancellation of permission to Srichaitanya-Narayana institutions. It will lay siege to the Intermediate Board on March 27, announced president of the vedika Maddileti and Central University professor Lakshminarayana.
They told press persons that the private educational institutions in Telangana were resorting to loot promising free education, after earning crores by releasing announcements in TV channels and newspapers. As a result there has been a rise in the number of suicides of students. Yet. they stated, the government has been indifferent to the burning issue not bothering to help the affected families.
Prof Lakskminarayana pointed out that in the State Budget only nine per cent of funds has been set apart for education, whereas 20 per cent is required. He appealed to students to participate in the protest in large numbers.
