Musheerabad: President of  the State BC Welfare Association Jajula Srinivas Goud alleged on Sunday that political parties were denying the rights of the BCs, although they constitute a majority of the population.

In a statement, Goud said the recently concluded Parliament session had deeply disappointed BCs, as the Telangana Bill conferring statutory status to the BC Commission was not passed. ‘This showed the political parties’ secret agenda of bias towards high castes’

He accused the leaders of parties supporting high castes of joining hands to block the Bill, after having been elected to Parliament with the support of BCs. Goud warned that in the ensuing elections BCs would work for the defeat of such parties. The BC leader welcomed the Bahujan Left Front’s decision to allocate 65 per cent of the State Assembly seats to BCs. He wanted the party floated by Prof M Kodandaram to take a similar decision; otherwise, it would be away from power and close to defeat, he quipped.
