World Heritage Day observed
Banjara Hills: On the occasion of the World Heritage Day , Turaga Foundation has presented a poster on its project documenting Dargahs of Hyderabad here on Wednesday. Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan released the poster, listing out Dargahs of Hyderabad, many of which have been hitherto un-documented.
The Dargahs of Hyderabad project is an unprecedented project taken up to identify, list and study the Dargahs of Hyderabad.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan lauded the project which is showcasing the unparalleled culture of Hindu-Muslim unity.
Chief City Planner Devender Reddy spoke about rich heritage being lost and said that the project was a way to identify dormant and unrecognized areas and structures and hence preserve them. GHMC Chief Engineer Suresh Kumar, Executive Engineer Pradeep Reddy, Turaga Foundation team of Conservation Architect Vasanta Sobha Turaga, Urban Planner Kalpana Raghavendra, Architects Srilekha Chalamalasetty, Rohit Mirdoddi and Researchers Shaik Akram and Ramya Ramesh were also present.
