400 Muslim women presented sewing machines

,Gajwel:   During his whirlwind tour of Gajwel Constituency, Irrigation Minister on Monday participated in the free distribution of sewing machines to as many as 400 Muslim minority women at agriculture market yard at Gajwel town. 

To provide the self employment, the machines costing Rs. 12,500 each were given away to 360 Muslim women from Gajwel-Pregnapur municipality and 40 women from Kukunoorpall village in the program which was also attended by MLC Farukh Hussain. Later, the Minister participated in Civil Rights Day program at Markookmandal headquarters and had his lunch with the villagers sitting next to the Dalit men and women in a line along with GADA officer Hanumantha Rao, Housing Corporation chairman Bhoomireddy, SC corporation chairman Errolla Srinivas. The minister said that people need to be motivated for the eradication of untouchability and attacks on Dalits in villages. He also directed the collector and joint collector to conduct the civil rights day once in every week in the new mandal.

Then, the minister headed to Chief Minister’s adopted village Erravalli to inspect the newly constructed cemetery followed by the inauguration of 33/11KV power sub station at Thimmapur village in Jagadevpurmandal. The minister himself served meals to the senior citizens at Gopala Mitra centre at the village after planting a tree. Later, the Irrigation Minister participated in the celebrations of BeerappaKamarathijatara by Golla and Kurma Community at Bandaram village in Kondapakamandal.
