Collector prods lecturers on facilities in govt colleges

Bhongir: District Collector Anitha Ramachandran here on Friday directed the lecturers and staff of government colleges to create awareness among the people about the facilities available in the government colleges. 

The Collector was holding a meeting with government college principals and lecturers at the District Collectorate and discussed the measures to be taken to strengthen government colleges in the district.

She advised the teaching staff of government colleges to conduct house-to-house campaign to see that more students enrol in the colleges. She pointed out that not many students were willing to get admission in the government colleges.

The Collector said the government colleges can attract more students by explaining to them about the facilities in the colleges. Scholarship too would be extended to the students belonging to the Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Joint Collector Ravi Naik, District Intermediate Examinations Convenor Ravindra Prasad, Government College principals, lecturers participated in the meeting.
