Officials gear up for fourth phase of Haritha Haram
Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Thursday directed the officials to make the fourth phase of the State government’s prestigious project ‘Telanganaku Haritha Haram’ a grand success by seeking coordination from various departments.
The Collector, along with Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal and District Forest Officer Sunil Hariyath, held a meeting with officials of the Police and the Forest departments about the steps to be taken for implementing the fourth phase of Haritha Haram project successfully in the district, here at Special Crime Branch Conference Hall in Khammam.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh Kumar directed the officials to take necessary steps for planting a large number of bamboo saplings by identifying suitable places with the cooperation of various departments and involving public representatives and people in the Haritha Haram programme.
He directed the officials to organise awareness camps about the benefits of increasing of green cover and asked them to take steps to involve more number of students in Haritha Haram programme without causing any disturbances to their studies.
Officials of Agriculture, Horticulture, DRDA, Municipal, Forest and Police departments must take necessary steps for completing the programme within the prescribed time to reach the target of planting 1.95 crores of saplings under the fourth phase of Haritha Haram this year, he said.
The Haritha Haram programme has been implemented successfully in the district for the last three years. With the same spirit, the officials of various departments, seeking cooperation with each other, must complete the programme successfully in the district this year apart from uploading the details daily, ordered the Collector.
Additional Divisional Commissioner of Police K Suresh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajesh, Venkatrao, Prasanna Kumar, Nagesh Reddy, Rehman, Ramanujam, Eshwaraiah, AR ACP Venkateshwarlu, Additional Forest Officer Sathish Kumar, Prakash Rao and Circle Inspectors were present along with others.
