Collectors directs officials to be on alert

Khammam: District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar here on Monday directed the officials of all departments to be on alert in view of the forecast of heavy rains in next 48 hours.

The Collector chaired a meeting with the officials of Irrigation, Roads and Buildings, Panchayat Raj and Welfare departments at Zilla Parishad Conference hall here.

Speaking at the meeting, the District Collector suggested that the officials inspect the reservoirs, tanks and ensure that there are breaches. Keeping in view of the warnings issued by the Met Department, Lokesh Kumar asked the officials to be on alert to meet any eventuality.

He also directed the officials to take necessary steps to prevent the overflow of drainage water onto the roads and contamination with drinking water.
