Area Hospital delivers record in deliveries
Kothagudem: The Bhadrachalam Area Hospital broke its last year record of carrying out maximum deliveries in the Stae. The 200-bed hospital which is located in the Agency area, carters to the needs of the people belonging to Kothagudem district but also from the nearby states like Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.The hospital witnesses a rush of patients every single day.
Because of its exemplary services, the hospital was given National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) by the Central government. A central team of experts had visited and conducted a thorough inspection of the hospital. Later they recognized it as the best hospital. Under the scheme it will release Rs 20 lakh for the development of hospital. In the entire the country, “this is the only one hospital in the agency area recognised by the NQAS,” said officials.
Meanwhile, the hospital bettered its own record in deliveries which included normal and C-section. So far 544 deliveries were done in the hospital only in the month of August. The hospital broke the record in deliveries which was 504 in 2017-18. In 2016-17 also it had a good record in same with 430 deliveries. According to Area Hospital Superintendent Dr Koti Reddy, the delivery cases are increasing year by year.
In 2014-15, the hospital done 3,379 deliveries, in 2015-16 – 4149, 2016-17 -4331, in 2017 -18 (4923), in this year 2018-19 till August it has done 2237 delivery cases, he added. Due to the co-ordination of the staff we made the record in the delivers. We did more deliveries in August month in last three years which is also a record, said Dr Koti Reddy.
