Conned by sham companies, victims protest at CP office
Hyderabad: Alleging that some companies cheated them on the name of free gifts and plots, the victims staged protest in front of the City Police Commissioner's office in Basheerbagh on Thursday.
When a huge traffic jam occurred due to the protest, police officials allowed some of the representatives of the victims to meet police Commissioner Anjani Kumar. They met the CP and urged him to take action against the companies Elite Group, Fortune Services, Landmark Infra Services and Priority Services and their representatives who cheated them.
Addressing the media, the victims said the companies' representatives by calling on phone lured the common people stating that they had won a gift in a lottery and to take it they should come with their wives to a designated hotel.
Later, when the couples visited the hotels believing that they won the gifts, the companies' representatives pressurise the couples for hours together and make them to buy the plots by paying an advance of Rs 50,000 on the spot.
Then they lured the customers by saying that they were providing the plots on the city outskirts at cheaper rates. After registering the plots, they took them to some of the ventures at Yadagirigutta and Shadnagar area and show their plots.
Later they ask for the due amount and promise them that the plots were registered in their name after 45 days. After completion of the time period when the customers go there and ask for their plots they prolong the matter.
The victims further said around 120 members were paid Rs 1 lakh to 2 lakh to the different companies and for justice they lodged complaints in Panjagutta and Narayanaguda police stations.
