Hyderabad: Police timely gesture saves man from committing suicide

Hyderabad: The timely gesture of Tappachabutra police saved a man's life who attempted to commit suicide. Ramakrishna, a medical representative is said to have been depressed for sitting at home for the last three months since lockdown.

Ramakrishna decided to end his life by going in front of the train. However, trand said that he was going to die. His wife Sailaja alerted the police over her husband suicide.

The Tappachabutla police patrol car was informed about Ramakrishna's suicide. The police managed to trace his mobile phone tower location of Ramakrishna that showed him near Red Hills. Additional Inspector K Prasada Rao alerted the local Saifabad police to check between the Nampally and Lakdikapul railway stations and sent a constable Nagesh and Sailaja to the spot.

They found Ramakrishna lying on the track and saved him minutes before the train passing towards Lakdikapul station. During the counselling, Ramakrishna told the police that he was sitting at home since the lockdown and was not getting a salary.

"After consuming liquor, I decided to end my life. There were no other family problems," Ramakrishna said.
