MIM leader in Adilabad opens fire against three over cricket match

District president All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Farooq Ahmed opened fire against three persons after a dispute over cricket match here on Friday evening in Thatiguda colony of Adilabad.

The injured people were shifted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad. The condition of persons is said to be stable.

According to the police, Farooq Ahmed, a native of Adilabad town, opened fire against Zameer, Mannan and his brother Motheshan of Thatiguda Colony and injured them. It is learned that Farooq developed a grudge against the three persons after a heated argument over a cricket match and resorted to the firing on road in full public view. He also attacked the persons with a sword. The MIM leader fled the spot after the incident.

Locals alerted the police who rushed to the spot and launched a probe before shifting the injured to hospital.
