Plea to pay pending salaries of guest faculty

Basheerbagh: The Telangana Degree College Lecturers' Forum on Tuesday demanded that the pending salaries of degree guest faculty be paid immediately.

Addressing a State-level convention of lecturers from 31 districts at Press Club here, forum president Kishore Kumar alleged that salaries were pending for the last eight months.

As a result, the guest faculty were experiencing severe hardships. He posed a question to the gathering how the government which failed to pay wages could provide free KG-to-PG education to the needy people.

Kumar urged Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to intervene and ensure payment of wages within a week.

He warned that if the demand was not conceded the faculty would go on a pen down agitation.
