Hyderabad: Reopening of the restaurants from Monday and the restoration of online food delivery services might have brough some cheers to the foodies. But they have to shell out more from their pockets to enjoy lip-smacking delicacies offered by food joints in Hyderabad.

To overcome the financial crisis faced during the lockdown period, some restaurants increased the price of tiffins like traditial Idly, Dosa , Upma and Vada. Earlier, the tiffin centres charge Rs 30 per plate idly. Now, it is Rs 35. Priced of other tiffin varieties were also increased by Rs 5 to Rs 7 . Hiking the prices is unavoidable to meet the growing expenses to maintain the restaurants as the number of visitors will be not up to the expectations in the partial lockdown period .

The offers extended by online food delivery services were also stopped. The regular orders received by the online services have been very low and the restaurants are not willing to extend offers like the slashing prices on the special menu. The famous restaurants used to offer big discounts on the famous Hyderabadi Biryani on online orders. Now, the management were collecting original price in view of steep fall in the on line orders. Unless, the business pick up, restaurants will not come out of with offers, managements said.
