Vidyanagar: President of BC Welfare Association R Krishnaiah said that real tribute to the architect of the Indian constitution Dr BR Ambedkar would be when SCs, STs and BCs, who form 80 percent of total population, get political power. He was speaking at a programme to observe 63rd death anniversary of Dr BR Ambekar at BC Bhavan here on Friday. R Krishnaiah garlanded the portrait of Dr Ambedkar and paid rich tributes.

Speaking on the occasion, he lamented that downtrodden sections, who constitute majority of the population, have been deprived of proper representation in any sector, even after 70 years of independence. To change the basic structure of the current system, SCs, STS and BCs should get the equal share in political representation based on their population. Only when SCs and STs should get reservation in education, employment and political sectors, social justice can be achieved, he said. Krishnaiah said that Dr BR Ambedkar strove to provide equal opportunity to all the sections. He called upon BCs to be aware of injustice and fight for proper representation.

BC leaders C Rajender, Jillapalli Anji, Satish, Krishna Yadav, Shankar, Ramakrishna, Mahender Goud, Sai Kartik, Ramulu and others participated in the programme.
