AP Assembly Winter Sessions: TDP protests over crop damages in the state amid Rains

Andhra Pradesh state assembly meetings has began on Monday with the introduction of condolences resolution for the recently deceased former public representatives. Meanwhile, the TDP held a dharna in the assembly premises and raised slogans to support the farmers who lost their crops due to rains caused by cyclone Nivar. Chandrababu, TDP MLAs came to the assembly carrying crops and reached the assembly on foot. The TDP demanded a comprehensive discussion on 20 issues such as employment guarantee arrears, TIDCO housing distribution, sand policy, distribution of house site pattas, Polavaram and local body elections as well.

The TDP, on the other hand, announced an adjournment resolution to help farmers affected by the rains. TDLP Deputy leader Nimmala Ramanaidu gave the adjournment motion. The TDP said in the resolution that the government had failed to alert farmers during the storm and demanded to support the farmers.

After the condolence resolution has passed, the speaker of the house adjourned the assembly for a break. Meanwhile, the Business Advisory Council meeting will be held to discuss on how many days the house function and agenda to be discussed. However, the government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to take all the 30 issues to the people through assembly on behalf of the government, including the implementation of the promises made in the election plan, the Navaratnas, the Polavaram project and the progress of the Nadu-Nedu works.
