Bank loans demanded to purchase cattle in Eluru
Eluru: The AP Rythu Sangham has demanded that the State government pay the bills for construction of Mini Gokulam sheds and arrange for the issue of bank loans for purchase of cattle for dairy purpose.
The Sangham leaders led by district secretary K Srinivas submitted a representation in this regard to Joint Director of Animal Husbandry department P Srinivas Rao. They discussed the plight of dairy farmers with the officials.
They informed the Joint Director that the farmers had constructed sheds by taking loan from private money lenders. As the bill payments were delayed, the farmers have been suffering burden on account of interests. The milk procurement price should be hiked by Rs 10 per litre to help the dairy farmers.
