Scrapping of crop loan waiver GO flayed in Eluru
Eluru: The AP Rythu Sangham has criticised the State government for scrapping GO No 38 which facilitates waiver of crop loan under fourth and fifth phases. Addressing the Sangham district office-bearers meeting here on Thursday, its state president Y Kesava Rao said that about 33 lakh farmers have been awaiting for waiver of crop loan worth Rs 7,582 crore when the government scrapped the GO.
It was unethical on the part of the government to deprive the farmers of the help when they were passing through crisis because of crop loss in natural calamities. He threatened the government to launch agitation, if it did not take back its GO abrogating the loan waiver. The sangham district leaders G Venkata Krishna Rao, K Srinivas and others were present.
