Gopalamitras stage dharna in Eluru
Eluru: Members of Gopalamitra Services Association supported by AP Rythu Sangham staged a dharna at Collectorate here on Friday, demanding that the state government provide them job security.
The agitators raised slogans in support of their demands. Speaking on the occasion, the sangham district secretary K Srinivas said that it was not good on the part of the state government to ignore the problems of Gopalamitras who have been extending medical services to cattle to help the farmers engaged in dairy industry for 20 years.
As the Gopalamitras have enough experience in providing treatment to cattle, they should be absorbed in the newly setting up village secretariats. As the Gopalamitras have been striking for nine days, medical services to cattle were badly affected in villages, he said.
He announced that the AP Rythu Sangham would extend its total support for the agitation.
The association leaders V Subbarayudu, Gopalakrishna, Harish, Veeraswamy, Jayababu, Satyanarayana, Rythu Sangham leaders K Bhaskararao, V Ramarao and farmers were present.
