Exempt lemon from e-NAM, demands Rythu Sangham in Eluru
Eluru: The AP Rythu Sangham has objected to the implementation of e-NAM (national agriculture market) system for marketing lemon produce.
The Sangham leaders visited Eluru market yard and observed the plight of farmers because of e-NAM. Speaking on the occasion, the sangham leader K Srinivas alleged that there were many doubts on e-NAM system in farmers and the officials without clarifying them should not force them to follow the system.
Stating that Eluru lemon market was the largest market in the country, Srinivas said there was no machinery and facilities to suit the requirements. As lemon is a fastly perishable item, the officials should not keep the farmers to wait long to market their produce but exempt lemon from the e-NAM system to avoid losses to them, he appealed.
