District Collector R Muthyala Raju paying tributes to ‘Amarajeevi’ Potti Sriramulu after garlanding his portrait in Eluru on Monday

Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju paid rich tributes to freedom fighter Potti Sriramulu at the Collectorate here on Monday to mark the 119th birth anniversary.

He garlanded the portrait of Potti Sriramulu located at the mini conference hall and paid homage to the departed soul. Joint Collector K Venkata Ramana Reddy, Joint Collector-2 N Tej Bharat and other officials present on the occasion. Rich tributes paid to Potti Sriramulu in the educational institutions, government offices and other places in West Godavari on Monday. People recalled the services rendered by Potti Sriramulu to Telugu people and the country. He went on a fast for 52 days in the year 1952 and paid the price by sacrificing his life for the creation of a separate State for the Telugu speaking people.
