West Godavari DC R Muthyala Raju asks field surveillance teams to be vigilant on corona in Eluru
Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has asked the field surveillance teams to collect the details of the people, who returned to the district from abroad in recent weeks. He asked the field surveillance teams to make the field level visits in the villages and towns and collect information on the NRIs or other people who came from other countries.
He said people, who have symptoms of Coronavirus must consult the doctors immediately. He asked the field staff to ensure that the suspected people should stay at their homes 28 days to check spread of Covid-19.
The Collector on Tuesday conducted a video-conference with the officials of various departments and enquired the measures taken to prevent spread of Corona Virus, Covid 19 in the district. He announced that 2,500 people came back to West Godavari District from other countries and underlined the need to keep a check on them.
The District Collector said China, Italy, Iran, Korea and Spain are considered high risk zone areas and asked the officials to take special care on the people came from these five countries.
He said the field surveillance teams comprises Asha worker, ANM, Village secretariat staff, panchayat secretary and Anganwadi worker and they have to work in coordination to check the spread of Corona virus.
He informed that Corona virus spreads in four stages. Initially, a person is affected in foreign and come back to their home in India. His family members are the second persons to get affected, the third persons are neighbours, close relatives or people living together in area in close proximity and they spread to fourth persons.
He said the field surveillance teams have to educate people to wash their hands frequently, drink more water, avoid meeting people in huge gatherings, consult the doctor in case of suspicion, etc. He said that Covid-19 can affect any person irrespective of age and sex. He suggested the surveillance teams to maintain three metres distance from the NRIs return from abroad to collect information and take all measures not to get affected with Covid 19 and must wear the face masks. Joint collector -2 N Tej Bharat and other officials attended the video conference.
